Palaeo-oceanography

Research Area: Palaeoceanography

Marine biogeochemistry and palaeo-oceanography. Oceanic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycles past, present and future. Coastal carbon and nutrient cycles. Global Change in Antarctic sea ice environments. Application of trace element and stable isotope methods in these subject areas.

Understanding the role of the ocean in modulating climate changes in the past (from decadal to orbital timescales) using an array of stable isotopic and other geochemical methods in marine sediment cores.
