Take the Helm

Plymouth University’s sail training vessel Take the Helm (a Dufor 445 built in 2012). Take the Helm is primarily used by students following the BSc (Hons)/FdSc Navigation and Maritime Science programme.

Coded to sail 60 nautical miles from a safe haven, she is equipped with a galley, teaching area, 6 berths, all modern navigational aids and a heater! Weekend sailing with appropriately qualified students is a great way to build experience and confidence.
