Our engineering is immediately recognisable for its ingenuity. As a result, the equipment supply contracts we undertake are seldom routine. Clients expect and create step changes in ship, rig or equipment capability. To achieve this, we work together from concept and scoping right through to delivery, installation and in service support.

LNG Bunkering

Houlder is developing a range of LNG transfer systems to support bunkering operations. The KHOBRA system, for example, (below) is based on proven marine crane technology and allows for safe and economic transfer of LNG and vapour either from onshore or ship-to-ship.

Offshore Construction

Houlder equipment has been deployed in support of challenging offshore and subsea construction projects for over twenty five years. The company designs, supplies and installs deck equipment varying from personnel access systems, through lifting and handling to pile restraint and flexible pipe laying.

In most cases, Houlder act as a turn-key supplier from initial concept through to installation and commissioning (as above). This means clients benefit from a reduction in commercial and technical risk sometimes associated with innovation.

Defence

Houlder is a preferred supplier of marine equipment and global in-service support to the UK Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and their Prime Contractors.

The company has delivered davits, cranes, hoists and other handling equipment to a wide range of vessels including frigates, minesweepers, assault craft and diving support vessels.
